Traditional raised panel cabinetry on either side of the fireplace adds functional storage and creates a historic backdrop for contemporary furniture and lighting.
This heritage home was stripped back to the studs, with the exception of the original wood arch that was lovingly preserved. The old juxtaposes the new finishing throughout the home and creates warmth and texture.
The garden views were paramount for this kitchen, so we created a sleek contemporary space in order to let the outdoors shine. The flush mounted induction cooktop blended seamlessly with the Rugged Concrete quartz countertops. Hidden storage under the island overhang provided extra space for seasonal items.
The walls between the kitchen and dining room were opened up to modernize the heritage home and create a functional, inviting space for a growing family.
This family required storage at the back entry for all their life's necessities, including shoes, coats and sports equipment. A tall storage cubby for each person kept everything tidy and in order, a lower bank of cabinetry on the left provided storage for dog food, leashes, etc and a counter for putting things down. The daughters' bathroom had challenging angled ceilings, but every corner of the space was used to allow for a freestanding tub, seperate shower and double vanity for two girls to share.
